President Maduro Warmly Welcomed in Jamaica

While many countries have been trying stay away or isolate themselves from Venezuela's President Maduro, that is not the case with Jamaica's Prime Minister Portia Simpson-Miller who joyfully welcomed him to Jamaica over the weekend. Over the year, Jamaica and other Caribbean nations have benefited from the PetroCaribe agreement with Venezuela which allows special oil purchase arrangements. Madura is also in Jamaica to co-chair a summit attended by Caribbean heads to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Petro-Caribe agreement. Further, in light of the poverty in his nation, Madura is also in attendance for the official opening of his millions of dollar gift to Jamaica - the Simon Bolivar Cultural Center.
